Over a Century of Woodworking Expertise

In 1896 Sparta Spoke Factory was established on the Calfkiller River in the heart of Appalachian Hardwood Country. The company reflected the best values of those pioneer days when quality craftsmanship and 'A Good Name' were honored and promises were made to be kept. While holding to those values and pioneering new standards in quality production, Sparta Spoke became the world's largest producer of wooden spokes.

As the need for wooden spokes decreased, those same values and standards were applied to making other hardwood components. Soon, Sparta Spoke became one of the nation's most respected hardwood component manufacturers.

Today, Sparta Spoke, now known as Sparta WoodWorks, continues to build its reputation as an innovative manufacturer of custom furniture components and specialty products. And, through all the changes, its foundation of timeless values remains the same.
